ROYAL 16.2+, 4 yr old Bay Thbd gelding   ROYAL is a breathtakingly beautiful, and beautifully started, 16.2 and-a-half hand 4 yr old gelding who is BRILLIANT, sweet, and enormously talented. Royal has a lovely mind and personality: intelligent, calm, willing and innately polite. Although still very green, Royal is purely a gentleman to ride and train. He is walk-trot-canter on loose reins, knows his leads, is learning on-the-bit work and bending, and is just starting over cavaletti. He has free-jumped once on the longe (picture above and video clip on our Videos page), and is ready to start jumping under saddle.  And, although green, it should also be explained that Royal is such a huge natural talent that everything comes easy to him. He's an extremely straight and well balanced horse, little or no rider input required, so he hacks on loose reins in an easy natural tempo, and it takes only a steady hand and a touch of extra rein and leg to have him come on the bit by himself and look magnificent. Actually, ninety nine percent of our trainig with Royal is to smile, sit still, and stay out of his way, because he is pretty much perfect when left to his own devices. 
Never spooky under saddle, always cheerful, (Royal is a very, very HAPPY horse) and in general the type who loves to eat and work. For an engine we give Royal a perfect '10' rating, not quick, not slow, neither stick nor 'whoa' required. Royal is purely a horse who is in the 'joy to ride' category.  
Royal's movement speaks for itself (see 'at liberty' video footage). He floats. He has a huge ground-covering gallop stride, or a quiet, lovely, rocking horse canter when not showing off. His trot is simply lovely, even at a pokey relaxed jog-trot he stills seems to be stepping on air. The kids call him 'the Fairytale Horse', and that is just what you think when you meet him. He has an extraordinary quality of presence, charisma, and quiet good sense that make him the stuff of fables.
