Naomi is a beautiful 4 yr old by our Dutch stallion Juss For The Taste. She has ovely movement, good conformation, wonderful natural balance and obvious scope over fences-but what sets Naomi apart utterly from any four yr old we've ridden in years is her temperament, disposition, and extraordinary level of trainability. She is just THE BEST.
Naomi has about a month and ahalf under saddle. By her fourth ride (pictured here) we already knew she has all the makings of a serious star. Naomi has really lovely balance under saddle (you don't make it for her-it's built in), an engine that never quits and yet-most wonderful of all--a calmness and sanity through-and-through that makes one feel totally safe. Naomi NEVER spooks-at least, we haven't managed to get one yet. Sprinkler cannons going off next to her, huge pile driving machines crashing away a hundred feet from her, cats and dogs jumping out under her hooves-things just don't worry her, period. From her first ride under saddle she has been a horse you felt you could trust with your children. And she is ALWAYS sweet. To say her temperament is good is the understatement of the year. ![]() Naomi is fearless, trusting, and so intelligent that she seems to train herself with every session. We think of her as a trainer's and amateur's dreamhorse-she gave us a better, straighter, more balanced and solid feel under saddle in the first month of riding than many horses do in their first long year.
Naomi was orphaned as a young weanling, and hand-raised on goat's milk and hugs-possibly one of the reasons for her excellent disposition (the other reason being that she is by our stallion Juss-who's temperament (and trainability) are also a perfect'10'.Naomi ties, trailers, bathes, all flawlessly--and has NO issues, vices, blemishes or unsoundness. She is really well-put together with great balance, clean, straight legs, good feet, and uphill, ground covering movement. Naomi has the easy and beautiful style to be a future winner as a junior, adult amateur, or amateur/owner mount. In her first longeing sessions over fences (3'6 is easy stepping-height for her) she shows excellent natural form, jumping in a metronome-steady calm and forward rythym, never rushing, never worried, with a style that islovely to watch. And no matter what we put up-flowers, panels, oxers, walls-she doesn't blink an eye, and never hesitates. Brave, uncomplicated, and wonderful under saddle. We would love to see Naomi go to a show home-she is absolutely A-Cicuit caliber, and has the bravery and scope to excel in eventing as well. She is quiet enough for an amateur right now, but, of course, needs to continue her just-started training. ![]() |
