Lady Liberty - SOLD 7 year old, 16 hand Thoroughbred x Shire Mare   Lady is a gorgeous black mare, just turned seven, whom we have known and loved since weanling age. She has been raised, trained and solely ridden by an adult amateur, with vast amounts of trail mileage (including ocean beaches rides and cheerfully swimming across rivers), lovely arena basics, and a solid grounding in basic jumping.  Lady is a lovely, lovely ride. She's green but PURE FUN to jump - she loves to jump and is the type you can throw the reins away to and just enjoy cantering forward to the fences on, no complications, no bucks, no silliness. On the flat she is soft, light-mouthed, and delicious to ride. Lady understands the basics of roundness, bending, leg-yielding and shoulder-in and would be ready to compete at 1st Level 1 in dressage. Under saddle she has no vices. She is easy, willing, intelligent and talented. Her movement is good, her form over fences is excellent - and very safe. And although still green over fences (just learning her changes, and the etiquette of courses), she has spent a good deal of time in open field and forests cantering down to tables, big logs, and banks.  She has a way
of jumping that makes you look forward to the next fence - she makes the cowardly
brave, makes the brave want to go bigger and higher. Lady would be a
FANTASTIC mount for an amateur or junior who wants to event or pleasure ride with a safe, smart, talented and hugely fun prospect.
Lady is sound, no history of lameness or illness in her seven years. She has a kind, sweet temperament. No marishness under saddle, and no marish behavior on the ground.
We are very proud (and also sad) to offer Lady for sale on our website. She
is considered a jewel by all who know her, and we do know her well. Her
owner's current circumstances require her sale, but the home she is sold to
is of paramount importance - she needs to be well-loved and utterly enjoyed
